Where they part ways.
The choices Palmier and BeHooked made differently, and what each one means for your work.
-
Editing vs generation
- Palmier
- Palmier is a multi-track editor first, with generation built in. For cutting a long video it is the stronger choice.
- BeHooked
- BeHooked generates and finishes. It has no multi-track timeline editor, so the long edit happens in your editor of choice.
-
How you pay
- Palmier
- The editor is free. Generation credits come with Pro at $29 a month (limited-time price) or Max at $69 a month.
- BeHooked
- There is no free plan. Pro is ₹2,900 a month for 60,000 credits, or pay-as-you-go packs from ₹500. Credits are quoted before each run.
-
Purpose-built apps
- Palmier
- Palmier's building blocks are editing tools plus generation, combined through its agent and Skills.
- BeHooked
- Apps for specific jobs: Ad Studio turns a product URL into video ads from 14 templates and 9 hooks, plus Translate into 175+ languages, Lipsync and Topaz upscaling up to 4K video.
Where they win.
What Palmier does well. If these matter most to you, it may be the better pick.
- A full multi-track editor with keyframes, colour grading, LUTs, masking and multicam, free to use.
- Generation happens inside the timeline, so new clips, voiceover and music land where you are editing.
- Editing workflows can be saved as reusable Skills and applied across many videos.
- Exports to H.264, H.265 and ProRes, or as XML for Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut.

FAQs
Questions, answered.
What people ask when they are choosing between Palmier and BeHooked.
Is BeHooked a good Palmier alternative?
Not if you need a timeline editor. Palmier is a multi-track editor on the Mac; BeHooked is a workspace for generating and finishing media, and has no timeline.
Can both be driven by Claude or Cursor?
Yes. Palmier connects to Claude, Codex and Cursor through MCP, and BeHooked has an MCP connector for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor plus a CLI.
Which is cheaper, Palmier or BeHooked?
Palmier is cheaper to start, since its editor is free and Pro is $29 a month at its current price. BeHooked has no free plan and starts at ₹2,900 a month or ₹500 pay-as-you-go packs.
Does BeHooked have a timeline editor like Palmier?
No. BeHooked generates and finishes media and does not replace a multi-track editor; Palmier is one, and exports XML to Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut.
What can I actually do with what I generate, including commercial use?
You own the outputs you generate, to the extent they can be owned, and you may use them commercially. We claim no licence over them beyond what is needed to store them in your library and deliver them to you. Note that the legal status of machine-generated output is unsettled in some jurisdictions — we can grant everything we hold, but not rights that nobody holds.
