Prompts and the effects they produced
An effect has no thumbnail. Each entry is the text that was typed and the waveform of what came back.

Describe it, set its length, and listen
Describe the sound
One sentence, with the material and the space in it, up to 600 characters. "Metal gate" gets you less than "rusted metal gate dragging on gravel".
Choose a length from the list
Duration is a dropdown, not a dial: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16 or 22 seconds on ElevenLabs, with 30 and 35 added on Beatoven. A sound effect's length is chosen from a handful of intentions — an impact, a hit, an atmosphere — not dialled to the tenth of a second.
Render and export
Choose an output format, generate, and the file lands in your workspace library ready to drop on a timeline. Failed runs are refunded.

Length, literalness, and how much the model invents
Two engines that are priced in two different shapes. The controls below are the ones the app actually renders for each.
-
Prompt
Up to 600 characters
The material and the space, not just the object. Effects are short: under two seconds for an impact, four to six for an atmosphere — asking for twenty gets you silence with a sound in it.
-
Duration (ElevenLabs)
1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16 or 22 seconds
A dropdown of set lengths rather than a slider, and the price is 4 credits per second of it. Sized for hits, impacts and short transitions.
-
Duration (Beatoven)
1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 22, 30 or 35 seconds
The same list with 30 and 35 added. Use those two for ambience and room tone — and the price does not move, because Beatoven is flat.
-
Follow the description
0–1, default 0.3
ElevenLabs. Higher follows the words more literally. Lower lets the model invent — which is what you want for an atmosphere and not for an impact.
-
Loop
On or off
ElevenLabs. Renders the effect so it can repeat without an audible seam.
-
Negative prompt
Up to 200 characters, Beatoven only
What to keep out — music, voices, hum — when the description alone keeps pulling them in.
-
Refinement
10–200, default 40
Beatoven. Higher spends longer resolving the render.
-
Creativity
1–20, default 16
Beatoven. How far the model departs from the literal reading of the prompt.
-
Output format
MP3 44.1kHz 128/192kbps, MP3 22kHz 64kbps, PCM 44.1kHz
PCM for anything going into a mix; the MP3 tiers for web and preview.
Engine choice
Two ways to run it. Pick the one that matches your source.
-
ElevenLabs Sound Effects v2
Per secondLengths from one second to twenty-two, a "Follow the description" control and a loop option. Priced at 4 credits per second, so a short hit is cheap.
Hits, impacts and transitions
-
Beatoven Sound Effect

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about Sound FX on BeHooked.
How long can an effect be, and can I set any length I like?
No — duration is a dropdown of set lengths rather than a slider. ElevenLabs Sound Effects v2 offers 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16 and 22 seconds; Beatoven Sound Effect offers the same list with 30 and 35 added. A sound effect's length is chosen from a handful of intentions — an impact, a hit, an atmosphere — not dialled to the tenth of a second.
How much does an effect cost?
The two engines are priced in different shapes, which is worth knowing before you pick one. ElevenLabs is 4 credits per second, so a two-second impact is 8 credits. Beatoven is a flat 301 credits whatever length you choose, which makes it the cheaper option only at the long end of its list. Failed runs are refunded on both.
How long should I ask for?
Effects are short. Under two seconds for an impact, four to six for an atmosphere — asking for twenty gets you silence with a sound in it. The long lengths on Beatoven are for genuine ambience and room tone rather than for stretching a hit.
What does "Follow the description" do?
It is the ElevenLabs control for how literally the model reads your words, running from 0 to 1 and defaulting to 0.3. Higher follows the words more literally. Lower lets the model invent — which is what you want for an atmosphere and not for an impact.
How do I stop it adding music or voices?
Use Beatoven's negative prompt, up to 200 characters, to name what you want kept out. On ElevenLabs the equivalent is raising "Follow the description" so the model stays closer to what you actually wrote.
Can I get an effect that loops?
Yes, on ElevenLabs. There is a loop option that renders the effect to repeat without an audible seam.
What formats does it export?
MP3 at 44.1kHz in 128 or 192kbps, MP3 at 22kHz in 64kbps, and PCM at 44.1kHz. PCM is the one to take into a mix.
